27.01.10 -TOP DJS CLUB TOGETHER FOR HAITI DISASTER APPEAL
In one of the biggest initiatives of its kind on the Welsh club scene, an army of top DJs and club promoters are getting together in Cardiff next week to host a major nightclub event raising funds for the Haiti Earthquake Appeal.
Taking place at Life in St Mary Street, on Wednesday 27th January, over 30 DJs will be appearing at the ‘Clubbing Together for Haiti’ spectacular in the city centre venue.
The event is being organised by DJ Mista Bibs of Urban Fusion who is working with fellow DJs, hosts and promoters to make the event a success, with all door entry money going directly to the Appeal.
DJ Bibs who is also a star DJ at Glam Club said: "Like everyone, I was appalled to see the sheer scale of suffering in Haiti and thought what can we do to help. I know that clubbers and young people are as concerned as anyone and this is one way urban music followers can literally club together to raise money for Haiti.”
The city’s nightclub promoters have also united to do their bit for Haiti through the event. Shaz Haris head of Sugar and Spice Events said:
“Promoters are quite a competitive breed normally, so it’s great that we can all get together in this way, and pool our resources and influence to really make a difference for the Haiti appeal. Given the numbers of people who follow our individual events, we represent a large movement of people and we hope this will make Clubbing for Haiti a massive success.”
DJs appearing on the night, which runs from 10pm to 2am include URBAN FUSION, RAHEEM, TROOP & CLUEDO, GOODFELLAS (ASH, DIJ & MISTA BIBS), SOULMOTION CREW
(D-STYLUS, SILVA & MONIQUE B), PRO, VEEJAY, JIGGA, SINKY, DUBMAT, LADY STYLUS, PAZ, SPICE, DJ MO HOSTS MC 23, JASPER, LOCAL, GUMMI, CHICO, GAMMA PROMOTERS SUGAR&SPICE, FRESH CITY, UPTIGHT, SOULMOTION, DRAGON PHANTOM, GEL PROMOTIONS, IMSOFUNKY.COM, RUNWAY CLOTHING, ALL OUT PROMOTIONS, JOHN BANJI.
Cost of entry is £3 minimum donation (£5 recommended) and all money raised on the door will go directly to the Haiti Earthquake Appeal.
