12.09.11 -Spanish Singer Releases Charity Record for Blind People of South Wales
A Spanish singer/songwriter has become the latest to record a charity single in support of an organisation for blind people whose President is rugby legend Gareth Edwards CBE.
Patty Cow, from Barcelona has released the song ‘Have You Ever,’ with music and lyrics by Cardiff-based music production duo Rich Edwards and Andy Dacruz.
The anthemic song, featuring the swirling pipes of the Cardiff-based Welsh Piping Society, has been released in support of Cardiff, Vales and Valleys (CVV) - formerly Cardiff Institute for the Blind.
Recorded at the One World Studios in Penarth, the song will be performed by Patty Cow on Sky TVs The Moore Show (Sky Channel 201) on August 19th at 6.00pm. Patty will also be interviewed by the show’s presenter, John Moore.
Rich Edwards and his team were behind another successful charity single for CVV - ‘What Colour is The Wind’ - featuring Welsh singer and entertainer Mike Doyle, which has so far raised £10,500 for the charity.
Gareth Edwards said: “This is a wonderful song, and a wonderful gesture by Patty and the team. We hope it raises lots of money for CVV and makes her very famous at the same time.”
Rich Edwards said: “We discovered Patty performing live in Cardiff and we were absolutely blown away by her talent, she really had the audience entranced.
We wanted to release another charity record as a close friend with sight loss became ill and it really hammered home the vital need for charities like CVV. Patty has the perfect voice for ‘Have You Ever’ and we are really pleased with the result.”
"Have You Ever" is available by download on iTunes, Amazon, Play and all major digital music retailers. All proceeds go to Cardiff Vales and Valleys.
